Care & Maintenance

Raw or waxed steel will develop a natural patina over time — this is part of its character, not a defect. We supply bespoke care kits with every order and provide full written care instructions for each finish type.

All IRONFORM pieces carry a 5-year structural warranty against manufacturing defects. Cosmetic wear, patina development, and damage from improper use or care are excluded. Contact us for warranty claims.

Powder-coated surfaces are highly durable and easy to maintain. Wipe with a damp microfibre cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners and prolonged water exposure. Re-apply wax annually for maximum protection.

Lead Time

Standard projects typically take 8–12 weeks from final design approval to delivery. Complex or large-scale installations may require 16–20 weeks. Rush projects are available at an additional fee — please discuss your timeline requirements during the initial consultation.

The production clock starts upon receipt of the deposit payment and written approval of final technical drawings. Design and revision rounds are not included in the lead time.

Materials

Yes — we regularly combine steel with solid wood, marble, glass, leather, and concrete. Material pairing is discussed during the design consultation phase. We have established relationships with specialist wood and stone suppliers and can coordinate sourcing on your behalf.

We primarily work with cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, brass, and aluminium. Each project requires its own material analysis based on the intended use, environment, and finish. We are happy to advise on the most appropriate alloy and thickness for your brief.

We offer matte powder coating, clear lacquer, wax, patinated, brushed, and polished finishes. All powder coat finishes are available in custom RAL or NCS colours. Untreated steel can be waxed to slow natural oxidation or left to develop a controlled patina. We discuss finish options during the design consultation phase.

Process

Studio visits are welcome by appointment. Our workshop is located at 12 Forge Street, Berlin. During a visit you can see pieces in progress, handle material samples, and meet the team. To arrange a visit please contact us via email or phone.

Yes — a significant portion of our commissions come through interior designers and architects. We are accustomed to working within detailed project specifications, meeting programme deadlines, and coordinating with other contractors on site. Trade pricing is available on application.

Every commission begins with a consultation — either in our Berlin studio or via video call. We discuss your brief, spatial context, intended use, and material preferences. From there we produce concept sketches, refine them into technical drawings, and proceed to fabrication only once you have approved every detail in writing.
