About IRONFORM

Last Forever

IRONFORM craftsman welding metal in the workshop

The Origin

IRONFORM was founded in Berlin in 2009 by Marcus Veil, a designer and fabricator who spent a decade working with industrial metalworkers before striking out on his own. The studio was born from a single conviction: that furniture made from steel, made by hand, made to last, is a fundamentally different category of object from what fills most homes.

Every piece we make begins as a technical drawing and ends as a commission — something made for one client, one space, one purpose. We do not manufacture. We do not produce runs. We fabricate individual pieces, one at a time, to the tolerances of precision engineering.

Fifteen years on, the studio has delivered over 340 pieces to clients in 28 countries. The team has grown to four. The philosophy has not changed.

Our Values

I

Precision

Tolerances are not targets — they are minimums. Every joint, every edge, every surface is worked to the tightest standard the material allows. There is no acceptable shortfall.

II

Integrity

We never conceal structural elements behind decorative panels. What you see is what holds the piece together. If a weld is part of the structure, it is part of the design.

III

Longevity

An IRONFORM piece should outlast its owner. We choose materials, finishes, and construction methods with centuries in mind, not decades.
